Photos: Rains lash Delhi NCR, amplify region’s water logging woes
Heavy rain lashed large parts of Delhi NCR on August 19, leading to heavy water logging across roads in the region. The day began with light to moderate showers between 6 am to 8:30 am, which soon picked up in intensity, as did the flooding in most low-lying areas across Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida. The Indian Metrological Department had issued a rain forecast a day before predicting widespread rainfall till August 20th in Delhi; after parts of Delhi received moderate rainfall on August 18, when the capital’s August rainfall reached a surplus of 3%.
