Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya’s wedding festivities have begun. The bride-to-be shared pictures from the first ceremony on Instagram. She captioned the photos, “Godhuma Raayi Pasupu Danchatam 🦜🪷♥️ And so it begins.”

The pre-wedding ceremonies took place in Vishakhapatnam. For the uninitiated, the phrase ‘Godhuma Raayi Pasupu Danchatam’ roughly translates to “crushing wheat, stone, and turmeric together.”

The ritual is significant in Telugu weddings where the bride and groom jointly grind wheat, turmeric, and sometimes other ingredients on a grinding stone. Here, Sobhita can be seen performing the ritual. The act symbolises the beginning of their life together.

Sobhita chose a simple silk saree for the ceremony. The bride-to-be was the epitome of simplicity in the ensemble. She chose a green, gold, cream and red embroidered silk saree and wore it traditionally, letting the tassel-adorned pallu fall from her shoulder.

Sobhita paired the saree with a matching cream silk blouse featuring a V-neckline, a cropped hem, and a gold band on half-length sleeves. She chose traditional gold jewellery to accessorise the ensemble, including jhumkis, a choker necklace, kadhas, a ring, and a necklace.

Sobhita also wore green bangles to complete the look. She tied her hair in a centre-parted, gajra-adorned hairdo. Lastly, for glam, she chose minimal makeup, including feathered brows, nude lips, mascara-adorned lashes, a red bindi, and blushed cheeks.

Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala got engaged in August of this year. The ceremony was held in the presence of friends and family.
