Severe cyclonic storm Michaung caused heavy rainfall in Chennai and its surrounding districts on Monday. The storm is expected to make landfall in AP on Dec 5.

Thiruvallur District Collector Prabhushankar visited the NDRF camp in the location and briefed the team about the impeding Cyclone Michaung and preparedness, in Thiruvallur on Saturday. Cyclone Michaung is anticipated to approach the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting winds reaching up to 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour. Moderate rains are expected in parts of the state, as well as in Tamil Nadu and Odisha on Monday, with heavy rainfall anticipated on Tuesday, (ANI)
