- Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday as the Congress returned to power in the hill state. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath in an open-ground ceremony at Shimla. The top leadership of the grand old party, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and the party's chief Mallikarjun Kharge, attended the event. Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh and Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot were also present. Mukesh Agnihotri, the outgoing assembly's opposition leader, was administered the oath as deputy chief minister. After a Congress Legislature Party (meeting) on Saturday, Sukhu's name was finally confirmed for the top post.
