Ishan and Iyer have been in the news for almost over a month, mostly for their prolonged absence from Ranji Trophy, at a time when the BCCI was regularly stressing on the importance and need to play First-Class cricket and not just the IPL. But given that neither Iyer or Ishan budged from their stance, the BCCI decided to crack the whip on their two star India cricketers. (PTI)

Rishabh Pant, who has been recovering from injuries sustained in a car crash since over a year, has also been included in the Grade B contracts which also includes Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel apart from Jaiswal.  (PTI)

Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma and Jitest Sharma were among the many new faces included in the central contracts list. The duo was added to the Grade C category, which includes 15 players; Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube, who made strong comebacks to the Indian T20I team, are a part of this category, too. (AFP)

All-rounder Hardik Pandya is in the Grade A list, having led India in T20Is throughout 2023 and being an integral part of the Indian limited overs squads. Other players in this grade are veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, pacers Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj and batters KL Rahul and Shubman Gill (REUTERS)
