More than 25,000 students register for Pune’s junior colleges
The state education department has uploaded the necessary information on their website.
The online centralised admission process for first year junior college(FYJC) has begun in junior colleges of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. More than 25,000 registrations have already been made, informed the office of deputy director of education, on Tuesday.

In order to avoid errors in the admission process which began on May 10, the state education department has uploaded all the necessary information online on their website. Students are required to fill in their basic information like name, address, reservation category, etc. For students availing the reservation quota, the documents will be verified by the teachers to complete the application. A total of 28,078 students have registered in junior colleges located in the Pune district, making it the highest, in comparison to Mumbai with 13,201 registrations and Nagpur with 10,848 registrations.
“Out of these 28,000 students in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, of a total of 4,316 student applications have been verified by us, leaving 10,853 students unverified. The remaining 12,909 student applications have been auto-verified,” said Meenakshi Raut, assistant director of education, Pune.
The students have to remember few important points while filling up the application form.
It is compulsory to fill and submit part I and part II of the centralised admission application. Students have to fill part I of the application form only once for applying to any one stream out of arts, science, commerce and higher secondary vocational course (HSVC). In part II of the application form, if necessary, a student can change their stream and preferences, with the progressing rounds. Students are allowed to give a minimum of one and a maximum of ten preferences.
