Pune traffic cop suffers head injuries after being hit by speeding car in Kondhwa

The victim, identified as Hawaldar Balasaheb Dagde, was hit by the speeding Maruti Dzire around 10:30 am, according to the police. The injured cop was moved to a private hospital.

Pune A traffic policeman on duty suffered head injuries after a speeding car hit him near Kondhwa chowk on Wednesday morning.

The victim, identified as Hawaldar Balasaheb Dagde, was hit by the speeding Maruti Dzire around 10:30 am, according to the police. The injured cop was moved to a private hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dattatray Arun Jadhav, who was brought to the police station along with his vehicle. No case was registered till Wednesday evening. Assistant sub inspector (ASI) NJ Bharud of Bibvewadi police station has taken note of the incident. The incident comes five days after three traffic policemen on night patrol duty were hit by a vehicle when they stepped out of their four-wheeler to help two injured on the road.

The three traffic policemen while patrolling the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway last Wednesday night were hit by a speeding car in Bavdhan area. The injured were identified as assistant police inspector (API) Anand Pagare; and constables Shinde and Naik Patil.
