Desai, in a media interaction, had alleged that Dr Chandanwale, the dean of Sassoon General Hospital, had cheated the state government on many instances as he had submitted a false disability certificate, which was in violation of the Maharashtra public service commission (MPSC) rules.

She had also allegedly threatened of blackening his face, following which Dr Chandanwale had lodged a complaint against her at Bund Garden police station. She had said, “Dr Chandanwale’s disability is 18 per cent, not 40 per cent. He has cheated the government. His disability certificate details must be checked by the government within fifteen days, otherwise his face will be blackened.”
