Administration fails to restore power supply, roads in Sirmour

Following the recent snowfall in the higher reaches of Sirmour district, several roads are still covered under snow.

Following the recent snowfall in the higher reaches of Sirmour district, several roads are still covered under snow.

Residents in the snow-bound areas have been facing problem in bringing ration and other things of daily needs. Nearly 12 villages in the area are without power supply from many days.

The administration on Sunday had announced the restoration of Solan-Haripurdhar-Minass road, but the traffic on this road is yet to be restored. Sangrah-Haripurdhar road remained closed for the seventh day and there is little chance of restoration before 3-4 days.

The area is represented by chief parliamentary secretary Vinay Kumar of public works department, the authorities have still failed to normalise life in the district.

In Haripurdhar and Nohradhar areas, drinking water supply also remained interrupted on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the administration announced holiday for schools in nine panchyats of Sangrah sub-division on Tuesday and Wednesday.
