Ace off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend, model-actor Geeta Basra, in October.
As per a close family associate of Harbhajan, the marriage ceremony has been fixed on October 29 in Hotel Club Cabana in Phagwara, around 20 km from Jalandhar.
However, the source also added that the dates might change if Harbhajan is picked for upcoming South Africa series at home slated for the month of October.
Bhajji, who is currently in Sri Lanka as a part of Indian Test squad, could not be contacted, but his cousin brother Gurpreet Vicky said that any disclosure about Bhajji's marriage would be made after the off-spinner returns to India. A senior official from Club Cabana, however, confirmed the booking made by the family for the event. “'We have been booked for an event. We cannot disclose anything as we have been asked to maintain confidentiality,” said the club official.
Bhajji’s cousin, though, did not rule out reports of his marriage with Basra.
A former Punjab Ranji player sharing good ties with Harbhjan’s family also disclosed that the off-spinner was set to marry Basra in Jalandhar later this year and the family was busy making preparations. Harbhajan’s affair with Basra has been in the news in the past several years.
Sources revealed that marriage invitations and other preparations would be finalised after he comes back from Sri Lanka. Several film stars and cricketers are expected to attend Harbhajan’s marriage, sources added.
