Industry delegation to meet Sukhbir on power tariff hike

A delegation of industry from the city is all set to meet Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday to lodge their protest against the hike in power tariff.

A delegation of industry from the city is all set to meet Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday to lodge their protest against the hike in power tariff.

The industry people have been staging protest against the power tariff hike by wearing black badges for past three days.

Gurmit Singh Kular, president of the United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), said Kamal Oswal, industrial advisor to Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, discussed with him the problems faced by the industry, and facilitated a meeting with the deputy chief minister to discuss the issues.

Meanwhile, industry people under the banner of All Industries and Trade Forum continued their protest on Saturday.

Harjit Singh Sondh of Bicycle Research And Development Organisation; secretary of UCPMA Ajit Singh; chairman of federation of MSME Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma; president of Laghu Udyog Bharti, Ludhiana, Rajeev Jain; president of Ludhiana Bicycle Engineering Park Jagatvir Singh; senior vice-president of wholesale dealers association Achhru Ram Gupta; and president of Janta Nagar Small Scale Association Jaswinder Singh Thukral were also present on the occasion.
