"Monday's fire at a stove repair shop in Gulshan Bazar could easily have spread and let to a major loss and shop owner Daya Sagar is definitely culpable for the incident," said Shiv Kumar, the investigation officer in the district.

"The menace of illegal refilling is rampant across the city and is continuing even after the incident. As today was a holiday, I will submit my inquiry report into the incident on Monday," said the Tehsildar.

This reporter visited many markets, including some near the MC building and found the business of illegal LPG refilling continuing without any hindrance.

District food and supply controller said that action will soon be taken against the unauthorised use of domestic LPG cylinders.
