Kannada actor Dhruv Sharma dies after suffering cardiac arrest, celebs mourn loss

Dhruv Sharma collapsed on Saturday at his home in Bangalore after which he was rushed to the hospital. On Tuesday, the 35-year-old actor died after suffering a heart attack and multiple organ failure.

Kannada actor Dhruv Sharma, who was also a member of cricket team Karnataka Bulldozers led by Kichcha Sudeep at the Celebrity Cricket League, died on Tuesday. The 35-year-old actor was speech and hearing impaired but never let it come in the way of his life or career. He is survived by his parents, wife and two daughters.

According to Times of India, Dhruv collapsed at his home on Saturday. He was immediately rushed to a hospital. On Tuesday, he suffered a cardiac arrest followed by multiple organ failure, leading to his death. The Kannada actor is known for his films such as Snehanjali, Bangalore 560023, Ninandre Ishta Kano, Tippajji Circle and The Hit List. Members of the CCL team including Sudeep rushed to the hospital to pay their last respects.

Despite being speech and hearing impaired, Dhruv went on to chart out acting career for himself and was successful as well. On the cricket field too, he won laurels and was known for his aggressive batting style. His last rites will be held as per Veerashaiva tradition at Kubrahalli in Bangalore at 4 pm on Tuesday, reports IB Times.

His untimely death has shocked many of his contemporaries. Actors Harshika Poonacha, Sumalatha Ambareesh and fans took to Twitter to express their grief and pay condolences. Bollywood stars such as Ritiesh Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani mourned his loss.

Actors from other film industries too expressed their shock and disbelief at the news.

Priya Mani, who works in all four southern industries and did a cameo in Chennai Express, found it hard to believe Dhruv’s passing away. She wrote: Can’t believe it that this gem of a guy is no more!! #Dhruv Sharma you will be missed terribly!!RIP Dhruv!!

Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh wrote that he was “heart broken and shaken beyond words” at losing his “brother”.

Aftab Shivdasani wrote: Shocked on knowing the passing away of one of the nicest guys around. Will miss u my brother. Be at peace wherever u are. RIP #DhruvSharma.

It was not clear if Dhruv was suffering from any illness.
