BWF World Championships 2021 Highlights: Kidambi Srikanth staged a remarkable comeback to beat young Lakshya Sen 17-21 21-14 21-17 and enter the final of the BWF World Badminton Championships. Lakshya took the first game before Srikanth fought and emerged thewinner of a thrilling match that lasted over an hour.

Srikanth came up with a flurry of smashes to take the second game and continued his attacks in the third game too. Experienced Srikanth up against young Lakshya! This will be the first meeting between the two Indian shuttlers. While Srikanth is ranked 14, Lakshya is 19 on the list.
Akane Yamaguchi in women's singles final
Akane Yamaguchi also registered a straight-game victory versus Zhang Yi Man in the semis to set up the final against Tai Tzu Ying.
Tai Tzu Ying seals maiden world championships final
Earlier in the day, Tai Tzu Ying booked her first-ever World Championships final berth, defeating He Bing Jiao 21-17, 13-21, 19-13 in the semi-final. TTY had beat PV Sindhu in the quarters.
Lakshya on the pressure situation
"I was confident in rallying it out. Both us made some mistakes. At 20-all I slipped but I managed to pull off a winner and I got a bit lucky," the 20-year-old shuttler had said after the edge-of-the-seat contest. Lakshya had also finished runner-up at the Dutch Open earlier this year.
Nerves of steel
In the tense quarterfinal Zhao Jun Peng, Lakshya came up with counter-attacking badminton to save a match point and then convert his first match point.
Lakshya to go 'all out' against Srikanth
"Let's see who makes the final. India is assured of a finalist, so that's a good thing. I will go all out," Lakshya Sen had told the BWF after his quarter-final win in Spain.
Kidambi Srikanth's dominance
Srikanth outplayed Dutch badminton player Mark Caljouw 21-8, 21-7 to advance to the semi-final of the tournament. This is the Indian shuttler's first semi-final appearance at the world championships. But with experience on his side, he will be looking to reach the final, having dropped just one game in the run-up to this contest.
Lakshya Sen on the rise
Lakshya made his way into the semis after a hard-fought 21-15, 15-21, 22-20 win over China's Zhao Jun Peng. The youngster saved a match point at 19-21 and won two more points to assure a bronze medal.
India assured of at least two medals
India to win at least a bronze and a silver medal. The country until now have won only won two men's singles medals -- Prakash Padukone (bronze in 1983) and B Sai Praneeth (bronze in 2019) across world championships history. This is the first time that India will have two medals in the men's singles.
