CWG 2022 Highlights Day 8: Bajrang Punia has won his second consecutive Commonwealth Games gold. Sakshi Malik and Deepak Punia then made it three gold medals for India in wrestling before which Anshu Malik had won silver. Divya Kakran won bronze to make it five wrestling medals for India. The Indian women's hockey team, meanwhile, faced a shootout defeat to Australia.

CWG 2022 Highlights Day 8: Bajrang Punia has won his second consecutive Commonwealth Games gold by winning the 65kg final. Later, Sakshi Malik pinner her opponent to win the women's 62kg title and secure India's second wrestling gold. Deepak Punia then made it three for India by beating Pakistan's reigning gold medallist Muhammad Inam in the men's 86kg final. Meanwhile, Anshu Malik lost the women's 57kg final and settled for silver. Divya Kakran (68kg) and Mohit Grewal (125kg) have both won bronze, thus taking India's total medal tally in wrestling to six. Sprint star Hima Das will feature in the Women's 200m semifinal. The Indian women's hockey team faced a heartbreak in shootout as they conceded a 0-3 defeat to Australia after the match ended 1-1 at normal time. The top seeds seemed to have started the fourth game quite well but then the Malaysians manage to come back. They end up getting four matches points, of which the Indians save win. The Malaysians eventually win 11-7.
