There have been no new appointments for the hospitals in Burari and Ambedkar Nagar, which is being run by already diverted staff from other hospitals. The two hospitals together have 500 beds for the treatment of patients with coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The Burari facility, which has a capacity of 700 beds, will also have 250 beds with oxygen support.

The government on Sunday appointed medical directors for its two hospitals in Dwarka and Ambedkar Nagar. The hospitals together will add over 1,800 beds to the existing 11,770 beds in Delhi government-run hospitals.

The spokesman said six deaths each were reported in Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh, five in Amethi, four each in Varanasi and Chandauli, three each in Barabanki, Prayagraj, Mahoba, two in Ambedkar Nagar, and one each in Kanpur Nagar, Gorakhpur, Sonbhadra, Ayodhya, Saharanpur, Jaunpur, Kaushambi and Azamgarh.

Police identified the arrested man as Rajender Kale, who hails from Dausa in Rajasthan, who used to live in Delhi’s Sangam Vihar. The police said Kale has previously been involved in case of murder in Ambedkar Nagar, and was out on bail when the murder took place.
