Hisar official under scanner for not acting against fraud accused

Nuh police seek 40 expert investigators for help in cybercrime probe

Police in Nuh, India, have requested 40 expert officers from across the state to help investigate cybercrime cases from the area following a crackdown on criminals. The officers, ranging from inspectors to assistant sub-inspectors, will arrive on Sunday to investigate cybercrime cases registered after a recent raid, according to Superintendent Varun Singla. The 16 FIRs registered after the raids across 300 locations in 14 villages resulted in the arrest of around 65 suspects. Singla added that the suspects had not left any money parked in the bank accounts they operate.

UK court suspends discharge of Pramod Mittal’s bankruptcy

Pramod Mittal, brother of steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, has had the discharge of his bankruptcy suspended by the high court in London. Mittal was adjudged bankrupt in 2020 on a petition by Moorgate Industries after he failed to pay £140m. The trustee appointed to oversee the bankruptcy alleged that Mittal failed to cooperate in sharing crucial information and was evasive about his assets and liabilities. The ruling means Mittal will remain on the bankruptcy register and be debarred from becoming a director or involved in company management.
