Workers’ org opposes tender for centralisation of slum sanitation

Fearing they could lose their jobs once the new company comes in, the workers, engaged by the BMC under the SMPA scheme on a measly pay of ₹5,600 per month, have urged the court to cancel the tender. LG flags lack of sanitation, poor roads in east Delhi

VK Saxena, the lieutenant governor of Delhi, has inspected areas in trans-Yamuna and highlighted issues such as poor roads, sanitation, encroachment, and clogged drains. Waste collection hit across Gurugram, raises stink among residents

Residents of Gurugram have complained about erratic garbage collection and poor waste management, causing foul smells and concerns about disease outbreaks. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has formed teams to address the issue, but residents claim that their complaints have gone unanswered. This is not the first time that garbage collection has been a major issue in the city, as disputes over non-payment of dues have previously disrupted waste collection. Over sixfold increase in Panipat MC’s sanitation budget in 10 years

The figures revealed that the annual expenditure of the Panipat MC on cleanliness has reached to ₹40.58 crore from the financial year 2022-23 from ₹6.28 crore in year 2013-14, reveals a reply given by the Panipat MC in response to an application filed by Panipat-based activist PP Kapoor under the Right to Information Act 2005.

Sushant Lok 1 residents hold protest against poor civic amenities

Residents of Sushant Lok 1 in Gurugram staged a protest against the civic authorities for failing to provide basic amenities, including sanitation and sewage systems.
