Nearly 55% of Afghans expected to face food insecurity soon, UN report says

“An estimated 22.8 million people, or 55 per cent of the population, are expected to be in crisis or emergency levels of food insecurity (IPC 3+) between November 2021 and March 2022, a nearly 35 per cent increase from the same season last year (16.9m),” the UN report showed.

Major reduction in number of new HIV infections in India, says UN report

In India, new HIV infections dropped from 1,20,000 in 2010 to 88,000 in 2017, AIDS-related deaths from 1,60,000 to 69,000 and people living with HIV from 23,00,000 to 21,00,000 in the same time period, the report said.

Separatists, activists welcome UN report on Kashmir ‘rights violations’
