A UK-based Indian woman was stunned after she paid ₹12,000 for a 20-minute roof drain cleaning service.
An Indian woman living in the UK has sparked a conversation online after revealing how much she paid to have the rainwater drain along the edge of her roof cleaned. What caught viewers' attention was not just the bill, but the amount of time the worker reportedly spent completing the job.

Taking to Instagram, Manju Shekhawat Parmar shared a video documenting the cleaning process and compared the cost with what a similar service might typically cost in India.

In the video, Parmar said, "In England, how much money did we pay to clean the drain at the edge of our roof that drains rainwater? 92 pounds, which is about 12,000 rupees. Now look, this man climbed up using a ladder and started cleaning this drain attached to the edge of the roof. Inside, lots of dry leaves and dirt had accumulated."
She explained that the worker collected the leaves and dirt in a bucket before showing her how much debris had been removed.
"He collected all the garbage in his bucket, then showed it to me and said, 'Look, this much garbage has come out.' After that, he went to the other side and cleaned there as well. Then he said bye to me, took his ladder and all his tools, and left," she added.
‘It took him only 20 minutes’
What surprised Parmar most, however, was how quickly the entire job was completed.
"But bro, the real thing is that it took him only 20 minutes to do this job, and he charged 92 pounds and left. Meaning in 20 minutes, 92 pounds, which is around 12,000 rupees," she said.
She concluded the video by asking viewers to compare the price with similar services back home. "Now you tell, in India, where you live, how much money does it cost to clean such roof drains?"
