Actor Puneet Vashisht, who is best known for his performance in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Josh and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-starrer Taal, is the second wild card entry on the ongoing reality show Bigg Boss 9. Puneet, who will enter the Bigg Boss house on Thursday’s episode, claimed he was never a Bigg Boss fan and only saw a few episodes recently, which were hosted by Salman Khan. However, the actor added that after his Bigg Boss stint. stars will ‘bid’ for him!
“I never liked Bigg Boss. I have seen just a few episodes, like a couple of this season and some older ones for Salman Khan and Ajaz Khan, who I know from before. But this is a platform, where if you show your talent, you can get immense fame and love of the audience. I want to experience that,” Puneet told PTI.
Puneet further said that superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan will bid for him after he comes out of the Bigg Boss house. “My career in Bollywood will be changed - full on. After I come out of Bigg Boss victoriously Salman bhai will be in my house asking me what to do next bro, Shah Rukh and Akshay Kumar will bid for me that they want -- Puneet Vashist,” Puneet told IANS before entering the house.
The 39-year-old actor said he would rejuvenate the “tired and bored” inmates and raise the entertainment quotient of the show. “Right now, the contestants are doing nothing. They should use their talent to entertain the audience. But they just sit idle. They look so bored, without any zeal or energy. I will bring that required energy into the house. I would tell them to follow me, like during the morning dance routine.”
Puneet said he was unperturbed by the gruelling tasks and changing equations inside the house as he feels he is too sorted to be trapped by any hardship on the show. “I am a very stable and firm person. No one can instigate me. I go by my mind and heart and to move me from my thinking and decision is not easy. I am ready for a lot of fun and if something bad happens, I know I can handle.”
He said: “It’s going to be flood of votes on my entry not because I have had the advantage of telling people to vote for me but because I have just done collective work as an actor. People love me... it is just the industry, politics that I have not got work I deserved till now. “I should not crib about it and god is great that I got this platform and I am going to come out victorious”.
After four evictions, Mandana Karimi, Prince Narula, Suyyash Rai, Kishwar Merchant, Keith Sequira, Rochelle Rao, Aman Verma, Yuvika Chaudhary, Digangana Suryavanshi and Rimi Sen are now left in the game. And Puneet, who featured in TV serials like Shastri Sisters and Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, has a message for all the inmates - “All the chickens are now going to face the tiger. They all will maintain distance from me,” he said.
His strategy is to show the real side of Puneet to the world. “Just be myself is my strategy. I am full of dance. I am a musician, performer, entertainer and all this has been showed to the world in bits and pieces in different characters but now people will get to see Puneet for the first time,” he said.
Puneet said, of the six episodes he watched of this season to understand it, he has come to like model Rochelle Rao and Iranian girl Mandana Karimi. “I like Rochelle, she seems nice, but unfortunately she is taken by Keith (Sequeira). I am also fond of Mandana,” the actor said.
