A lot of established television actors such as Sushant Singh Rajput have quit television to work in the Hindi film industry, but actor Karanvir Bohra maintains that he will never leave the small screen.

“Movies aren’t my space right now,” he says, adding, “I love television and I love the offers that I am getting in this medium. I do TV and films together, but I don’t want to leave TV as it’s my forte.”

Karanvir, who is going to become a father soon, says he’s “overwhelmed” by the thought of becoming a parent. “This is obviously an experience that I will be having for the first time. My ambitions have taken a back seat. It’s all about the future of my child now. I know that I can handle being a father because I have handled every situation that has come my way,” he says.

Producer Ekta Kapoor has revamped the face of TV with shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, but people think TV shows are too glamourised and need to be simplified. However, Karanvir says Ekta has a vision and that vision has worked for her. “Let the others come in with other kinds of shows. One should always work with a vision. Ekta has one and I love that about her. I respect her for it,” he says.

Karanvir is also a fan of the season format for TV shows, saying that it’s a “breather” for actors and producers. “The season format is fantastic. Actors work for a show, take a break for a few months and start again. The producers and actors can offer something different,” the actor says.
