I wish people talk about my work and not what I get paid: Manish Paul

Actor Manish Paul prefers talking about his work as a host rather than clarifying speculations about the money he makes from TV shows.

In July this year, there were reports of actor-comedian Manish Paul getting Rs 2.5 crore to host dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The 35-year-old says he doesn’t react to such reports.

“I love the work I do and I enjoy it. I think people should talk about my work rather than the money I make. I read these reports, but decided to ignore them,” says Manish.

“A man should never be asked his salary, that is something that I believe in,” he adds.

Meanwhile, Manish was blessed with a baby boy in June this year and the actor says that he was unsure about how his four-year-old daughter, Saisha, would react to this. “We were worried. But she is super protective towards him. She tries to play with him all the time. We are so happy that she has taken this well,” he says.

Despite two kids, Manish says that he manages his time well. “It is not at all hectic, even with the baby. I don’t take parenthood as a liability, which might be why I don’t feel the pressure. I look at it as a blessing. I was home for a few days due my shoulder surgery last month and both kids were thrilled to have me at home. But even with shooting for my show, I manage to take out time for my family,” says the actor-comedian, who will also feature in action-comedy Baa Baaa Black Sheep, which has been directed by Vishwas Paandya.
