Amid a raging diplomatic face-off between India and Canada over the killing of alleged Khalistani operative Hardeep Singh Nijjar, India's external affairs minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar addressed the United Nations General Assembly on September 26. In a comment apparently aimed at Ottawa, the Indian minister said that political conveniences cannot be allowed to dictate responses to terrorism.
