An AIADMK worker's lungi caught fire in Viluppuram in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, as he tried to burn the effigy of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) chief and Tamil film actor Vijayakanth. Vijayakanth had allegedly instructed his party cadres to remove AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa's photo at a bus stop in Thanjavur on Monday. Meanwhile, Jayalalithaa, who is the Tamil Nadu chief minister, asked her party members not to protest against or burn effigies of the actor.
