Covid | Delhi deaths confusion: NDMC says 2,000+ while govt reports 980+

North Delhi Municipal Corporation contradicted govt on deaths in the capital. NDMC Standing Committee chairperson Jai Prakash claimed over 2,090 Covid deaths in Delhi. As per official records, Delhi has seen over 980 deaths due to Covid so far. “Death toll recorded by Municipal Corporations and Delhi govt was varying. Delhi govt asked us to verify the number of deaths. We compiled all data related to death toll and replied on May 17,” he said.
