'Get vaccinated 6 months after recovery from Covid-19': NITI Aayog's Dr VK Paul

A govt panel recommended those testing Covid positive to defer vaccination for six months. The recommendation has been made by the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation. This announcement comes amid an acute shortage of Covid-19 vaccines across the country. NITI Aayog Member (Health), Dr VK Paul said, “National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation has researched this matter. Scientists said if a person is infected, he develops antibodies & there's protection. Scientists opined that a person should get vaccinated six months after recovery.” The country is currently witnessing a devastating second wave of the novel coronavirus. India added over 3.6 lakh new cases in 24 hours, taking the total Covid tally to 2.3 crore.
