Telangana govt announces 10-day lockdown from May 12 as Covid-19 cases rise

Telangana govt declared a 10-day statewide lockdown in view of surge in Covid-19 cases. The announcement was made by the office of CM K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday. Lockdown will be implemented from tomorrow (i.e. May 12, Wednesday) till May 22. However, there would be relaxation for all the activities from 6am to 10am daily. For the remaining day, only essential activities will be allowed across the state. The decision of lockdown came following a high-level meeting of the state cabinet. On Monday, Telangana's Covid tally crossed half-a-million as 4,826 fresh cases were added.
