About The Video

  • Farmers continue to protest at Delhi borders amid rising cases of Covid-19. Bharatiya Kisan Union's Rakesh Tikait said protest sites were now farmers' homes. Tikait also refuted reports of farmers violating Covid norms at a recent Iftar celebration. Tikait added that many farmers are struggling to get the second dose of vaccine. “Farmers are at their home, where else will we ask them to go? Is Covid spreading from here? We have been living here for five months now,” he said. Tikait added, “Many farmers took vaccines but are struggling to get the second dose. We have requested vaccine officers to set up camps at protest sites.” Thousands of farmers have been protesting at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders. Farmers are protesting against the Centre's new farm laws for the last five months. Meanwhile, Delhi recorded over 24,630 fresh Covid cases and 249 deaths on Wednesday. The positivity rate stood at 31.28% amid a growing clamour for oxygen and hospital beds.
