EU 'Punishes' Iran For Sending Drones To Russia; Slaps Sanctions Within A Week Of Raisi's Death

The European Union, on May 24, agreed to put nine Iranian entities, including Iran's Defence Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, on its sanctions list. The sanctions are for supplying drones to Russia, which Moscow allegedly uses in its war against Ukraine. The sanctions include travel bans for individuals, asset freeze for individuals and entities and a prohibition on making funds or economic resources available to those listed.
