Russia’s UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia accused Western governments of ignoring repeated warnings, arming Kyiv under the Minsk agreements, and steering Ukraine toward confrontation with Moscow. He alleged that Ukraine’s authorities have fostered corruption, repression, and policies marginalising large segments of the population, turning the country into a geopolitical pawn while civilians pay the price through forced mobilisation and deepening turmoil. Nebenzia also charged European leaders with stoking anti Russian sentiment to deflect from internal crises, warning that their approach risks triggering a wider conflict. He said only renewed dialogue and serious peace efforts can prevent further escalation.
