Fishing Vessel Burns Through Night Before Sinking Off Spain’s Galicia Coast

A Spanish fishing vessel caught fire and sank off the coast of Galicia on Tuesday after its three crew members escaped into a life raft. The 25-metre-long Corvo was engulfed in flames around eight nautical miles northeast of Estaca de Bares, off Manón. Spain’s Maritime Rescue Service received an alert late Monday, prompting the crew to abandon the vessel. They were rescued unharmed by the nearby fishing boat Rio Xunco and later airlifted to Celeiro for medical checks.
