India Gate to get grand Netaji statue; PM Modi to unveil hologram on Jan 23

In a tribute to freedom icon Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil his hologram statue at India Gate in New Delhi on January 23. This comes on the 125th birth anniversary of the Azad Hind Fauj founder and days ahead of the completion of his grand statue which will be installed soon. The statue will be made of granite and will be 28 feet long and 6 feet wide. Calling it a symbol of indebtedness, Prime Minister Modi announced the grand tribute as part of the ‘Parakram Diwas’ celebrations on twitter. TMC has now welcomed the centre’s decision but asserted that it was a bid to divert the attention from the rejection of West Bengal's tableau themed on the former commander of the erstwhile Indian National Army for the Republic Day parade.
