Union parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi responded to Congress's Adhir Ranjan Choudhury's attack over lawmaker Anantkumar Hegde's 'Gandhi' remark. Choudhury's comments were expunged because they were deemed to be unparliamentary. Joshi said that Hegde denied making any critical comment about Mahatma Gandhi but had still been asked to express regret. “We are the real bhakts, we are the real followers of Mahatma Gandhi,” said Joshi in Lok Sabha. Hegde had stoked controversy by calling freedom struggle under Mahatma Gandhi a 'drama'.
