Citizenship Amendment Bill: Amit Shah meets CMs of North-Eastern states

Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday met Chief Ministers and activists from North Eastern states to discuss the Citizenship Amendment Bill. The Home Minister reportedly clarified doubts over the contentious bill as it prepares to table the bill in the ongoing winter session of Parliament. After the meeting, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the bill may be tabled next week itself. Chief Advisor of AASU however said that they still have reservations over the bill and will continue their protests against it.
