Covid update: Covisheild progress; virus ‘hidden’ gene; Fauci on vaccine

From SII enrolling people for phase 3 clinical trials to scientists discovering the 'hidden' gene, here are the top updates on the coronavirus pandemic. Serum Institute of India (SII) said it has completed enrolment for phase 3 clinical trials of its vaccine candidate Covishield. SII and ICMR are currently conducting 2/3 clinical trials of Covishield at 15 different locations across the country. Also, scientists found a new “hidden” gene in the novel coronavirus. Scientists discovered overlapping genes which they believe play a role in virus' reciprocation. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government decided to not open schools from November 16.
