‘Ex-soldiers will handle goons’: Ex-Navy officer backs BJP after assault

Madan Sharma, the former Navy officer who was recently assaulted in Mumbai, met the Governor of Maharashtra to air his grievances. On September 11, Sharma was beaten up, allegedly by Shiv Sena workers, for supposedly sharing a cartoon depicting Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. He complained to the Governor that the accused had been booked under lenient sections whereas some journalists had recently been kept behind bars for multiple days under a trespassing charge. He also announced his affiliation with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. When asked whether he would be contesting elections also, Sharma was reticent. He also claimed that a group of retired soldiers would be handling situations of lawlessness from now. Watch the full video for more.
