A day after lakhs of students sat for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2020, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam criticised it in Parliament. The Opposition party from Tamil Nadu claimed that the syllabus of the medical entrance exam was solely based on CBSE syllabus, thus putting students graduating class 12 from the Tamil Nadu state board at a severe disadvantage. At least 3 aspirants reportedly committed suicide in the run-up to the test on September 13, allegedly due to stress.
