Hundreds gather at Attari-Wagah post to welcome IAF pilot

Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman is expected cross Attari-Wagah joint check-post at around 3-4 pm today.  Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had on Thursday announced that the IAF pilot will released as a “gesture of peace”. Hundreds of people have reached the Attari border in Amritsar with drums, garlands and flags to receive Wing Commander Varthaman.  He was taken into custody by Pakistani forces two days ago after shooting down a Pakistan Air Force F-16 jet.
