India elected to UN Security Council with overwhelming majority

India has been elected to UNSC with an overwhelming majority of 184 votes. India's 2-year term as a non-permanent member will begin from January 1, 2021. The elections took place against the backdrop of the conflict in Ladakh with China. This is the 8th time Indian has been selected to the United Nations Security Council.
