PM Modi to visit Russia for Eastern Economic Forum, bilateral summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Russia between September 4-5, 2019. PM will attend the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. He will also be holding a bilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The visit will be short, lasting around 36 hours. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said that PM Modi wants to expand India-Russia relations beyond the traditional fields like defence and civil-nuclear cooperation. The two nations are also expected to focus on space cooperation, with Russia offering help for India's first manned mission to space.
