The fourth and final illegal apartment complex in Kerala's Maradu was demolished on Sunday. The 40-flat Golden Kayaloram complex was brought down hours after officials had demolished the 128-flat Jain Coral Cove. A day earlier, the 91-apartment H2O Holy Faith and 67-apartment Alfa Serene had been turned to rubble. The demolition had been ordered by the Supreme Court in May 2019, due to violation of Coastal Regulation Zone norms. Officials say that at least a month would be needed to clear the 70,000 tonnes of rubble created due to the demolition.
