A state government worker in Orissa, Nirakar Mallick has converted 10 acres of barren government land into a green forest, all by himself. Mallick may be a menial staff of the Orissa Government's Irrigation Department but a visit to Aliha village relates how he has converted ten acres of barren land into a green forest. Over the past two decades Mallick has planted and nurtured more than 100 varieties of trees in his individually grown mini forest.
