Cabinet clears Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Judicial Accountability Bills

Prior to tabling it in the Parliament for enactment, the union cabinet has cleared the Land Acquisition and the Rehabilitation Bill as well as the Judicial Accountability Bill that would amend century old law. According to the decision the consent of as many as 80% of the landowners is required in case of private acquisition.
