The agreement of a ceasefire between the Government of India and the north eastern militant outfit Achik National Volunteers' Council (ANVC) was extended for another three months on Wednesday. The period of truce was extended as the Suspension of Operations agreement by the Indian Government was expiring on the same day. A high level meeting was conducted by the state authorities, in which the ANVC submitted its demands to the state chief secretary. The state authorities though said that the final decision lies in the hands of the central government.
