Congr leaders pay homage to Chhattisgarh Maoist attack victims

Congress party leaders paid homage to their late colleagues on Sunday, who were killed in the recent Maoist attack in Chhatisgarh. Senior Congress Party leader, Motilal Vora, and others paid floral tributes to Nand Kumar Patel, chief of party unit of Chhattisgarh, his son and Mahendra Karma, former leader of opposition in the state, at the party office. The rebels killed at least 19 persons when they ambushed a convoy carrying regional leaders of Congress party on May 25. The rebels fell trees to block the 20-car convoy and then detonated a landmine and raked the vehicles with gunfire. Mahendra Karma, a senior Congress leader from Chhattisgarh was believed to be the main target of the attack
