Devotees celebrate Mahashivratri

Braving the early morning chill, thousands of devotees took the Shahi Snan (royal bath) in the holy waters of River Ganges on the occasion of Mahashivratri. In Haridwar, devotees plunged into chilly waters of the holy river to pay obeisance to Hindu Lord Shiva, whose wedding with the goddess Parvati is celebrated on Mahashivratri.
