Gorkhaland Stir spoiling New Year celebrations in Darjeeling

Tourists holidaying in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong the popular tourist destinations in the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal may have to forego the ensuing celebrations of New Year due to the ongoing protest by locals for separate state of Gorkhaland. As a part of their stir, the activists of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJMM) have blocked the national highways resulting in no mode of transport for the tourists to reach Darjeeling and other places from Siliguri, the main railhead.
