Leaders and eminent citizens on Wednesday paid homage to the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with chief of the ruling Congress party Sonia Gandhi paid tributes at 'Shantivan', the memorial of Pandit Nehru. Nehru affectionately remembered as 'Chacha Nehru' was known to be very fond of children and hence the day is celebrated as Children's Day across the nation.
