Home ministry adopts wait and watch policy over stampede

Home ministry on Saturday adopted a 'wait and watch policy' over stampede at the Sabarimala shrine in Kerala in which over hundred people were killed and around hundred were injured critically. U. K. Bansal, Special Secretary (Internal Security), Home Ministry, said that they are still evaluating the issue and will send the National Disaster Management Force if required. Meanwhile, K V Thomas, Kerala's Minister For Agriculture And Consumer Affairs, said that both central and state governments should make proper arrangements for the pilgrims so as to avoid such accidents in the future.
